Yowie Gear is two mates.
Greg  and Mike.

We both grew up rural and somehow ended up designing and engineering products across agriculture, transport, mining, and automotive. Basically industries where gear lives a hard life and stupid design gets found out very quickly, usually at the worst possible time.

The Yowie idea was born on a road trip west to Isisford while helping BlazeAid recover vehicles that had been used by volunteers repairing fences after the 2025 floods. Some call it volunteering, or community Service work, but basically it was a four day pub crawl with long drives in between. Plenty of time sitting at the bar talking rubbish, fixing the world, and accidentally coming up with ideas that were actually useful.

That trip sums up what Yowie Gear is about. Getting out west. Helping where we can. Listening to the people who actually work there. And noticing how often simple things make life harder than it needs to be. The products came straight out of that. Roo shooters knife cleaning setups were messy and impractical when working remotely. So we designed and built better ones. That is where the Blood Bath stainless knife sanitiser tank and the Super Gooper knife sanitizer dispenser came from. The same thinking carries through everything else. Little annoyances that add up over long days. Dust getting where it should not. Jobs that should be simple but are not. We design gear to fix those problems properly, not just make them look solved.

Yowie Gear is also a very handy excuse to head west, go camping, or stay at the local pub and test ideas where they actually get used, catch up with good people, and continue "important research" into regional pubs. Yowie Gear is built Yowie Tough, Our products make life easier for people working or travelling out bush.
